Ty Conklin Waived
DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings have put goaltender Ty Conklin on waivers.
If Conklin isn’t claimed by noon EST Tuesday, he will be assigned to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
Simply put, Joey MacDonald has been a beast in his 8 starts, and Conklin has floundered in his 11.
With the numbers sported by Conklin this year, it will be difficult for a team to take a chance on him, even if they are hurting in net and need an emergency goalie.
Personally, I would see Marty Turco being recalled by a team before Conklin earns a shot.
